Answer is Brachypanorpa oregonensis (Mecoptera: Panorpodidae). Snoutless, brachypterous scorpionflies endemic to Oregon. Such a weird species! Males are fully winged and females have very reduced wings.

I’m on my way to #EntSoc23 & #ECN2023 on a bus going 70 mph, but my computer is sending an OCR generated text file from a scanned collecting event sheet and sending it to #chatgpt to parse into a #darwincore formatted spreadsheet. What a crazy weird world we live in.
Well #SPNHC2023 is over for me - heading back to Chambana. Amazing conference, amazing people. So many great conversations & memories made. Hope I'll be able to make the next one. Thanks to @calacademy for hosting both me for some research and many of the great events.
