3/4 Third, I shared many intimate conversations on the troubles of skiing, golfing & other leisure practices along the way. So, I'm excited that this paper found a home in the

2/4: Second, this study features autoethnographic work: childhood memories and photos, personal reflections and thoughts on skiing, and poetry. Crafting the vignettes felt exciting, but publishing these personal diffractions and inviting possible critique also feels a bit scary.
1/4: First, I work with diffractive multimodal vignettes. I followed slight hints & shared stories through various data sources (ethnographic fieldwork, media articles, personal photos) and, using AI, created some uncanny vignettes. Here's a sneak peek of this process:
