Cat swap day. Linus has been in kitty jail for a couple of weeks due to some over the top resource guarding and bullying. Last night our tall gate came in so I'm trialling him in the gated dining /living room area. Results of this TBD.
Sparky, the old guy and good sport, is now having a turn in kitty jail. He's sure he didn't do anything wrong.
Conventional wisdom says to keep these guys separated for a while longer.
This guy, Linus, has been with us for three weeks or so, staying in a bedroom with all the necessities.
The first time he got the run of the house, he gave us a scare when he disappeared completely. I spent all day worried about him, searching everywhere - in and under furniture, behind cabinets and boxes, under cushions, in closets - to no avail. I was really worried he'd fallen into a wall somewhere and couldn't get out.
My other cat narced him out by sitting in a corner of the basement and staring meaningfully at the ceiling. A little bit of sweet talking coaxed Linus out of a gap between floor joists, in the insulation between the basement ceiling and the floor above.
I can truly say he is both Basement Cat and Ceiling Cat.
