Heads up #fediadmins. There is a Mastodon MCP server now. This is going to make it a lot easier for the techbros to get LLM based bots on Fedi.

BMorePunk has suspended mastodon.cloud after a review of our connections to that instance.

No accounts on BMorePunk followed accounts on Mastodon.cloud or vice versa. A review of stored accounts showed mostly spam accounts. The instance was already limited due to previous advisories from IFTAS.

If you know anyone on Mastodon.cloud please tell them to switch to another moderated and maintained instance.

- You do not need to verify on Mastodon
- No legitimate Mastodon admin will ever demand you verify
- No legitimate Mastodon admin will ever ask for your bank card details
- There are no monetisation features on Mastodon
- There are no extra features for verified accounts on Mastodon

If you see a scam post, click ⋯ on the scam post, then "Report", and select the option to forward the report too.

We have defederated from all hf.spaces instances as they appear to be hosted by Hugging Face and are being used to create fake Gazan accounts to spam users with. We are defederating the entire domain before it is used to create more LLM powered spam.

I want to expand on the age-verification working group plan, to avoid confusion. The goal is to create an informal group of experts in the areas of law, privacy, trust & safety, and technology. Their agenda is explicitly not to _implement_ age verification/assurance, neither in the Mastodon software nor in our own servers. The group will assess various risks for the user base, the server admins, and the project and analyse it from different perspectives to provide a balanced recommendation.
