@georgemonbiot.bsky.social in the BBC's case, even if 200 meteorologists say it's raining, the BBC will hunt the country for one unqualified person who says it isn't, and then present both opinions as of equal merit. And then pat themselves on the back for claiming balance.

Journalism isn't what a state broadcaster is for.

I personally think we should have regional and national public service broadcasters instead of a centralised state broadcaster, but we can't easily get there from here without some constitutional surgery.
