I went to an open mic night as the only masked person in a basically "red dot in the middle of a blue sea" town (I wasn't the only visibly queer person so that was nice). I definitely got some looks but I think they softened up to me bc they saw that I was into the music (so much talent in the world my god) and expressed that to them personally. I even danced with them during the last cover band.

I genuinely had a good night out.

It just makes me think of how divisive the internet has made us and how if we got together over good music how we would see the humanity in each other.

Maybe I am just being sentimental and they were all secretly hating but I'd like to hope not.
