It's been a weird day on the fediverse here. I'm on two text-based instances, and both have been having big problems. Mastodon.xyz has DNS problems by the look of it so has effectively disappeared, while calckey.social has been unavailable all day for me until right now. I haven't enjoyed the feeling of being fully out of touch here! #calckey #mastodon #fediverse
I am enjoying calckey.social, but I must admit I'm struggling with the uptime / performance issues. I would say that probably half the time I try to use it, it's either completely down or so slow as to be effectively unusable. Is this likely to be continuing? I notice that new users are being invited now, which feels like it might not help so much ... #calckey #uptime
At last, my blog migration is complete and it lives again! Still very much work in progress, but it's been a great learning experience. I've moved from Jekyll to Eleventy and am also using Bootstrap for layout etc. Still some stuff to finish eg search and RSS, but at least I can post again!

I use Logseq for taking notes at work and home, and that's also really invaluable. But it isn't so good for writing articles, blog posts etc so Typora continues to find some good use. I'm about to re-launch my blog on a new platform, so even more so soon... #logseq
I'm not playing at tonight's Misbourne Symphony Orchestra concert in Chesham this evening, after managing to crush my thumb while locking a heavy gate and fracturing it (edit - the thumb, not the gate!). Turns out that's not good for holding a flute :( But I'll be there and would love to meet anyone who happens to be around!
In other news, thank goodness this didn't happen a few days before the concert where I was doing a flute concerto with the orchestra..! 🫣
