'she/her' unless you know me

in case it's not clear from the contents of my timeline, i don't know anything about anything

apparently this needs saying, so:
DO NOT BARGE INTO MY MENTIONS
TO PICK A FIGHT. i come here to chill
out, not argue. if arguing chills you out,
go somewhere else.

block early, block often,
block right wingers on sight

wingolog: article: baffled by generational garbage collection

Drew Barrymore pauses the show until the strike is over.

More proof that bullying the rich into making ethical decisions is important and the morally correct thing to do

Auto workers are demanding a 40% raise to match the 40% pay increase CEOs of the Detroit automakers got over the past 4 years.

CEOs are calling this absurd, but they couldn't be more wrong.

THIS IS A COMPROMISE. Why? Because worker's real wages have fallen 30% over the past 20 years. They're foregoing 16 years of wage theft for 4 of equity, and consistent equity going forward. That's basic justice.

Pay workers. Unionize workers. Tax billionaires. Save our economy.

FUCK OFF CLOUDFLARE

is there a text-mode (DOS or Posix) spreadsheet that can trivially switch rows and columns, so you can view your spreadsheet sideways with a single command?

the problem with using Mastodon for long form posts is that the multicolumn format makes them actively painful to read

"open original page" is better, unless you're logged into that server. but an additional "open in reader view" would be nice, so that you get a nice reader-friendly view whether you're logged in or not

what i wouldn't give for a "mark all of this person's media sensitive" profile note on Mastodon

using a CPU just for graphics wasn't an entirely unheard of trick back in the day. yes, the Fujitsu FM-7 had dual 6809s for the purpose, but it wasn't the only one - the machine sold as the Amigo in the US by Ontel and as the Cortex in the UK by C/WP, an odd little duck of a CP/M machine, had a Z80A for running CP/M and a 6502 for putting stuff on the 640x300 monochrome screen

(i'm having trouble thinking of another one, though. anyone else?)

Odd Retrocomputer Had A Graphics Coprocessor

[Noel’s Retro Lab] scored an unusual 1980s vintage computer sold in Japan and Spain. The Seconinsa FM-7 appears to be a popular Fujitsu Japanese computer altered to fit the Spanish market. Th…
