I went with vanilla Mastodon for my first try at selfhosting in the fediverse. You are quite welcome to follow me at @micke

One thing I whish for is a public service (online) news paper. Swedish public service radio and to some extent TV is great, but their websites are getting gradually worse. They focus on audio and video respectively and text based news are not really availabe any more. I know this is because publishers are preasuring the government to make sure public service does not compete with news papers, so a public service news paper as a direct compeditor is probably out of the question, but it would be so great if we could have one, with rss feeds and apis open to the world, with no interest in making money from ads.
