Just got The TV Writer's Guide by Margaret R. Weiss (1952), which contains a script from The Laytons, the first US TV show to star a black actor: Amanda Randolph, who played Martha, the Laytons' housekeeper and star of the show. I read it out loud to Chris and we both laughed.
This pioneering TV network brought us the first sitcom, the first black and Asian American TV stars, and much more before most of its content ended up at the bottom of New York Harbor. Read all about it here:
