It looks like I just passed 30,000 followers here on Mastodon. Cool! To celebrate this big round number, I have made a donation to the children's literacy organization First Book, because if there's anything the world needs now, it is more and better readers.
Thank you for following me here, folks. It's good to be here, and I'm glad you're here, too.
But this weekend everything finally clicked!
I tackled a bunch of challenging terrain (sand, rocks, sketchy water crossings) and was able to get into the flow and confidently take things as they came.
And now the door is now wide open in terms of where I can go explore, which was the reason I wanted to get into adventure riding to begin with.

Had I ever ridden off-road when I bought it? Nope.
Is a tall, large, top heavy bike a good beginner friendly introduction to off road riding? Not really.
But for the past 5 years Iβve been joining a group for a couple of adventure rides a year all through out the Sierra Nevada mountains. Pushing myself, falling down in lots of exciting ways, and every so slowly figuring things out.

Iβm about to hit the 5 year anniversary of when I bought my Africa Twin. I absolutely love it, but I bought it with the intent to use it as a proper go anywhere adventure bike.

Back in California but still on my panorama nonsense. Visited Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks over the weekend and climbed two tall granite slabs with spectacular views.
