#JohnMastodon is proof that things *CAN* go viral here on Mastodon, but the key is that *YOU* are the algorithm. The reason that the John Mastodon meme showed up on other people's timelines is because so many users boosted the posts.

The lesson here is: please don't just favourite something if you really enjoyed it; BOOST it so that other people can enjoy it, too! This is the only reason why I bother to create as large a social graph as I can on Mastodon—to act as an amplifier. You can, too!❤️😉

@ostrich @notjustbikes This brings up something I'll never understand about cities in North America. So many places will have accessibility requirements(ramps, buttons, etc) for businesses. But it seems so baffling to me how they can claim a business is accessible when there's basically no way for someone who's intended to use these improvements to make their own way to the place to begin with. It's like building a furnished room with no doors in the sims.

@stux This concept reminded me of this one awful attempt at a map-based MMO where they had you pay for digital plots of land and they threw random resources in them or something. I wish I remembered what it was called, because it was hysterical watching it crash and burn

@georgetakei The word of GOP officials on these topics can't be trusted. They have demonstrated time and time again that they will say whatever it takes to worm their way out of controversy while continuing to support authoritarian figures and measures by not taking any actions against them, and often taking action in favor of them.

This is the place where I post the things that pop into my head. Sometimes, it's #art, sometimes(less likely) it's #music. Most of the time it's #shitposting. Utter nonsense.

I kind of like #furry art. I think it can be very cute. Additionally, I like a huge variety of #videogames. I didn't have a twitter(thus no follower base), so if you're interested in my stuff and you see this I'd appreciate a follow.

One of those is “Hive Social”, which reached more than a million users in the last weeks. Of course, we were interested and took a look at Hive from a security standpoint. We found a number of critical vulnerabilities, which we confidentially reported to the company. After multiple attempts to contact the company we finally reached them by phone and they acknowledged the report. After multiple days and multiple reminders by us, they claimed to fix them within the next two days. However after those two days, multiple vulnerabilities we reported were not fixed and still existed at the time of writing. ⚠️ We strongly advise against using Hive in any form in the current state.
