Garnishing wages to pay back federal student loans is remarkably dumb. NO ONE benefits- “taxpayers” do not fund federal spending and do not fund federal student loans
Even if student loans are paid back, that $ is evaporating- from bank accounts and the economy
“Taxpayers” only lose out by having reduced aggregate demand and thus have to live in an economy where many people cannot afford anything. No one is bailing out student loan borrowers - just dampening the economy (destroying lives)
