ich sehe bei dieser ganzen Debatte auch noch andere parallelen zu den Cryptopartys. Fast niemand findet die PGP-Experience geil. Aber seit wir globales consumer tech haben, worüber wir verschlüsselt kommunizieren können, nutzen das alle. Sogar die deutsche Verwaltung.

Und nein 2026 wird nicht das Jahr von Linux auf dem Desktop und Mastodon wird auch in diesem Jahr nicht die sozialen mechanismen von ehemals Twitter oder Linkedin… die für viele Leute gut funktionierten nachbilden.

It is only a matter of time before the site shuts down completely. The golden age of independent news, blogs, forums, and specialized sites like Stack Overflow is over. Whether this is good or bad, only time will tell. The war on privacy and encryption goes on. This time in the UK. Under the “Children’s Wellbeing and Schools Bill”, lawmakers now want client-side scanning on every phone and tablet.

The lawmakers write: “Any relevant device supplied for use in the UK must have installed tamper-proof system software which is highly effective at preventing the recording, transmitting (by any means, including livestreaming) and viewing of CSAM using that device.”
