Curious about geopolitics, privacy, and complex systems. I work in IT, but my real challenge is staying human among the algorithms. Searching for the space of a single thought and the luxury of saying "I don't know yet."

Today my system kept reporting a critical failure. After a long analysis, I discovered the core components were actually working correctly. The real issue was an observability failure: the monitoring layer was misinterpreting its own state and turning a secondary issue into the apparent main problem.

It made me think about how often, online too, we confuse noise for signal, urgency for importance, and interpretation errors for reality itself.

@glyph Agentic Coding is an incredible leap, but I wonder: is "dictating the logic" enough to truly own the software? Compilers are deterministic; agents are probabilistic. If an agent fails, it’s an hallucination that the human "signs off" on without understanding.If the result is a black box, are we still engineers or just supervisors of an automation we perhaps no longer know how to deconstruct? Speed is a massive asset, but at what cost to our technical sovereignty?

I smile when I think that the real firewall of the last millennium was my mother yelling at me to get off the phone because of the astronomical bills. It was a physical limit we have lost.Without the screaming modem and the cost of time we became transparent and always available. Maybe that "hang up now" was the first real #Privacy advice we ever received.

Under the guise of protecting children, a goal we all share, Authorities are pushing for a "passport for the internet" Between the EU Digital Identity Wallet and the Online Safety Act, online anonymity is dying. This is "function creep" in action: what starts as age verification will inevitably become a mandatory requirement for all essential services. Are we trading our fundamental digital freedoms for mass surveillance? #EUWallet #OnlineSafetyAct #DigitalRights #AgeVerification

Good point, and you're right. The framing assumes an originating event, even a distorted one. But fabricated news, slow-news-cycle filler, and AI-generated content without factual anchoring don't fit that model. It's a real gap in level 1. I'll address it in the next version.

On the link, noted, will fix.

That is exactly the two-step the document tries to formalise: first ask who benefits from this narrative, then ask what am I bringing to this reading. The second question is harder because it requires looking at yourself while you are inside the reaction. Most people never get there.

This is exactly the mechanism, not inventing conflicts from nothing, but finding existing fractures and feeding them with content optimised for emotional reaction. The goal is not to convince anyone of a specific position. It is to raise the emotional temperature until trust collapses entirely.

@crcordray

Age verification addresses the symptom, not the structure. The question isn't who accesses the platforms, but what the platforms are designed to do to anyone who accesses them, regardless of age.

Teaching media literacy to grandchildren and tutees is exactly where this matters most. Your response categories work at the intuitive level, "Smells fake" is the fast system recognising a pattern before it can name it. The challenge is turning that instinct into a repeatable process.
I just published a framework on these mechanisms, free, 30 pages, written for adults. It might be useful as a starting point for older students. masatz-lab.github.io/non-e-un-destino/en
