Remember to share links to independent art, text, videos, tutorials, and news articles from reputable sources that you trust on your federated social network. This will help support these original creators and ensure they receive beneficial traffic, rather than directing it to big tech platforms like Facebook, X, Instagram, Reddit, and others. In the age of generative AI, these platforms often fail to give credit to creators.

Microsoft enabled the notorious "Recall" with the last update (for Windows 11 copilot+ enabled pcs only). It's part of the OS and can't be uninstalled. This software stores metadata about EVERYTHING that appears on your screen, including passwords/urls/images/videos/any messages you send or emails etc

To disable this gross spyware, run the following as admin on the command line:

Dism /Online /Disable-Feature
/Featurename:Recall

#Windows #Spyware #Recall #PrivacyAbuse

This is your reminder...

There is no algorithm that brings posts to your timeline. The only posts you will see under your Home tab will be either people that you follow, or the boosts from people that you follow.

BOOSTING IS THE LIFE BLOOD OF MASTODON.

If you read something that is interesting, funny, thought provoking, news worthy, or beautiful, then BOOST IT.

Hitting "Favorite" lets the poster know that you liked it BUT IT DOESN'T LET ANYONE ELSE KNOW.

Keep Mastodon alive. BOOST.

@meatlotion That argument is a fallacy, disproven time and time again by C. Not even the most experienced C coders in the world can write correct, bug-free C.

Pretty much everyone who seriously tries Rust understands just how game changing it is in this regard. In fact, not only does Rust do a lot of things for you, it also encourages you to structure the code in a more logical and maintainable and understandable way, and people who learn Rust often report they also become better C coders as a result, which is the exact opposite of what you suggest.

Software is tens of thousands of times more complex than when languages like C were developed, and we *need* assistance from tooling and compilers to help manage that complexity.

My freelancing journey in Germany has come to an end. It is over for good.

And let me tell ya, what a ride it was.

Many unexpected things and "WTF" moments happened.
Someday I'll write a blog post about this, once I find the right words so I don't get attacked by random people who have it better.

Up until love and peace within, is the fight against oneself the hardest one to win.
Well, I've gotten the CNCF Kubestronaut title. But somehow I don't feel different. U_U

Oh my, this year has been full of certification achievements.
Here's what I have gotten so far:
Kubernetes-related: CKAD, KCNA, KCSA, CKA
Next: CKS. Let's see how it goes before Sept. 10th.
I bought the Prometheus certificate, no idea when I'll take it🤷‍♀️

Language-related: JLPT N3. Test was held on July 2024, but I got the results just yesterday.

Honestly I don't feel like I know more. It's just that I can finally "show" what I know. So people realize that I am actually not lying. Why would I?
