I decided to finally look at the Signal app. I don't have much use for it, but still might be worth having available. Given the first thing I ran into was a FB/IG like "story" feature, I wasn't impressed. I got that turned off and started looking around only to find cryptocurrency embedded in the app.

I'm sure some will say I'm being too harsh, but in 15 minutes this app got three strikes, which is unfortunate. The third strike was having the interface glitching and not responding while I was changing settings.

“Localhost tracking” explained. It could cost Meta 32 billion.

You just can't finish off Zuckerberg.

The main public library of Helsinki, Oodi, is beautiful and unsettling. Books, study rooms, 3D printers, videogames, music studios, sewing machines, kitchens...
Would it be possible to provide such services in bigger cities with lots more people?
Opinions on Stadler FLIRT? Last one I took was SBB/CFF/FFS.
Last train of the day! The Helsinki Airport train station is breathtakingly deep

Here's the nightmare scenario for anyone who uses a password manager, 2FA, and other modern online security tools.

I've locked myself out of my digital life

Imagine… Last night, lightning struck our house and burned it down. I escaped wearing only my nightclothes. In an instant, everything was vaporised. Laptop? Cinders. Phone? Ashes. Home server? A smouldering wreck. Yubikey? A charred chunk of gristle. This presents something of a problem. In order to recover my digital life, I need to be able to log in to things. This means I need to know my u…
