So it’s not 100% perfect, but if you add https://qt.any.dev/ in front of any mastodon post URL, it’ll “fake” a quote post using open graph and oEmbed. It’ll also look great when you share it in iMessage.
Rendering very complex posts isn’t perfect, but it’s a useful tool for folks to use while we wait for real quote posts.
I've had the idea for a weird kind of Twitter client for years. With Mastodon being all open, I've decided to do the experiment:
What if your Timeline looked like iMessage. A normal timeline confuses me to no end because everything is out of context.
My experiment, Ebou, is a Mastodon client that looks like iMessage. Conversations are grouped by friends and sorted by recent postings.
It is super basic right now, but this already feels much more natural to me 😀
Hey folks. I am still looking for new opportunities. My current role ends March 31.
If you can look at my resume & share it with someone you think might be interested. I sure would appreciate it.
I am happy to talk about lots of 100% remote possibilities, not just dev roles.

My least favourite sharp edge of Mastodon is the fact that when you view someone else's post you only see replies to it that are known to your server - so there's actually a good chance there will be replies that are completely invisible to you, especially if you run your own instance
I'd love it if tapping a post kicked off a request back to the original server that fetched the current reply count and provided a "view all replies" button if there were replies not yet visible to me
Remember when I said that I was going to discontinue the website player in 2023?
I changed my mind in light of new information. The website player will remain in its glorious mediocrity indefinitely! 🎉
