@mhoye one of his 12 seed phrase words had to be “schadenfreude”
Look, if a core Bitcoin developer can get their whole wallet emptied out unrecoverably on them, and that developer's immediate reflex is to start calling a centralized authority for help, it's time to stop pretending this entire cryptocurrency exercise is ever going to work. We're done here.
I’m not an infosec expert or anything but I don’t think that’s right

so now that the gang’s all here (or well on their way) how can we make this place awesome for everyone? I’ll go first… I got some ideas which I’m sure you’re all excited to hear:

1) lets leave all that gotcha mentality back at the old place. No one cares how many followers you have, it doesn’t matter here. Also, it doesn’t make your ideas better or you a better person.

2) Does this need to be said? said by me? said by me right now?

3) Lets have open palms, open minds, and honest, curious questions.

4) Can we assume good intent by default? At least for a little while anyway?

5) I bet we can… by actually having good intent by default.

I know everyone can do it. I believe in you. You’re (almost) all good people when you’re not on those other sites. Just be that same person here.

Lets make this the “Eternal November” people are talking about 25 years from now.

When people travel to the past, they worry about radically changing the present by doing something small.

Few people think that they can radically change the future by doing something small in the present.

This is the only real time travel paradox.

I can't believe I even have to say this, but please do not grant the San Francisco police department the power to kill people using armed robots: https://www.eff.org/deeplinks/2022/11/red-alert-sfpd-want-power-kill-robots
Red Alert: The SFPD Want the Power to Kill with Robots

The San Francisco Board of Supervisors will vote soon on a policy that would allow the San Francisco Police Department to use deadly force by arming its many robots. This is a spectacularly dangerous idea and EFF’s stance is clear: police should not arm robots.TAKE ACTIONEMAIL YOUR SUPERVISOR: don'...
