i just woke from a dream that started out as me being the trombone player in a comedy troupe with a ventriloquist and the doll was made of donated and vat grown flesh and was alive and i kept seeing a pigeon in the background and one day the pigeon destroyed the ventriloquist and doll. then the dream pivoted to the life of a recruit in the pigeon special forces.

You do not have space in your mind & heart for every atrocity or act of cruelty.

I know I don't.

But we can still hold to our sense of reality. We can carry within us a fraction of awareness of the real scale of pain & suffering in the world, & by doing so, we can refuse ever to accept cruel, pointless violence as an inevitability.
