@BranwenOShea it's a sort of manipulation of darkness/shadow/light so they're adept at going unnoticed.

@BranwenOShea ooh, good question. Either the same as the MC, which is Night, or perhaps the one that focuses on nature and growth (that I have yet to decide a name for)

@AlinaLeonova It is learned, although it requires a person to consume a distillate of predecessors magic to awaken the ability. So it's not readily available.

There are going to be some magic animals, which have become that way thanks to a certain mysterious old lady who has a soft spot for strays.

#WritingWonders day 2 — If you could live in your fictional world, would you? Why or why not?

...yes, if I had magic; otherwise I suspect I wouldn't last long! There's four houses of magic in the part of the world I'm focussed on but the world is a fantasy late medieval type so I suspect the harsh realities of that might do me in.

I'll give #WritingWonders a go, as it will help me as I plan more of this WIP.

I'll be talking about 'Hand of Night', a #fantasy tale featuring a badass female MC who has to save a country from the machinations of a princeling more than content to murder his own family to ascend to the crown; a #trans sellsword who MC trusts to aid her; and a mysterious old lady who talks to animals and can render you unconscious with a few short words.
