I agree - the contrasts are rather strong. And I believe there's many reasons piling up to this. Companies having a few huge offices/warehouses tied to the larger cities instead of smaller ones spread out. And the "centralization" of shops to either malls or huge complexes instead of spread out in the city centers (of both big and small cities).

The smaller grocery stores dies because people shop at the big "cheap" ones by car or order home. Its a domino effect really.

I know you fellas probably get a lot of flack from being grumpy and dystopian, but I really like you for it. The honest, strong opinions while still being open to be proven wrong or see a different angle.
In Ep374 about AI, you were clearly audibly agitated, passionate when you said "everything good that is left has been fucking ruined". Some people will dislike you for it, but I think it's very valuable.

While I've been partly running Linux (and BSD) throughout the years - this week I celebrate 5 years with nothing but Linux on the desktops and servers in my house (and elsewhere where I get to choose).
