Today I did some welding and got ends on the large pins (washer welded to one end of the pin). The bucket is now fully locked in. I need to install cotter pins in all the pins now.
@RueNahcMohr @MLE_online and it even has a TÜV label already. 😀

How well do you know JavaScript's Date class?

@hennichodernich Nice, I didn't expect it to run OpenWRT. But I didn't really keep track of that project tbh. Planning to use the small thingie for my "Internet of Shit".
@funkylab And therefore I wasn't going to open it anyways. Just in case I'd plan to do the soldering.
@funkylab well, there will quite likely be some sort of dumb (probably multi-port) USB 5.0V power supply anyway. I'd only hot glue a USB cable to the socket of the device and not the whole housing itself, which will keep the AP modular and movable.
This is the thingie!
Wobbly micro USB connector supplying power to this tiny WiFi access point. It's a slack joint. Photo in the next toot.  🧵
Hot glue to the rescue!

@tjw On the day Opteron was supposed to tape out, a colleague discovered a logic bug. After some analysis, we figured out we could fix it by disconnecting a wire from one gate and attaching it to another. But running through or design flow would take days, and the ripple effect of changing connectivity could cause more problems. So I loaded the chip mask into VIM and modified the polygons directly, then we taped it out.

Don’t remember for sure, but I don’t think we told management 🙂

@GuyBirkin Nice photograph! "Crown shyness" came into my mind: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Crown_shyness

Y'all remember that lace safety vest that a cyclist was wearing a while back? Everyone sent it to me because #Lace .

I had no idea where it came from, but I loved it. Recently a vendor of them popped into my feed. I decided to try one to see if it was legit.

It's very nice. I'm not selling them, I'm not pushing them, I'm just saying if you like to lace in safety now you can....

I'm kind of impressed with the quality.

Update: it is no longer mine.

The site is https://lacesafetyvest.com/, should you be interested. I am not associated with them. Just pleased with it.

Might wear it to Sunday Lace for a laugh.

@mem_somerville I bet it's cooler in this hot weather!
@cognissart It's still nylon, but it does feel more breathable because of the mesh.

@mem_somerville

omg I love that!

Looking at it made me wish there were a much larger set of style options for high-viz vests

@clive Right? There should be. Totally agree.
@mem_somerville is it still made of short-life plastic like other hi-vis? Reject the motoring supremacy attempts to make active travel pollute more!
@mjr No, it isn't. It appears to me to be a Schiffli kind lace. Which is nylon, but it's thread and not a sheet of plastic.
@mem_somerville still pollutes water with fibre bits every wash if I recall correctly, but less than polyester which is commonly used for hi-vis

@mjr Ok. Well, I'm a lacemaker. I don't have the 3 years it would take to make this in one of your approved fibers.

Sorry.

@mem_somerville nm. At least it's better than the average bear!
@mjr @mem_somerville I am going to assume that you didn't intend to come in here with arrogance and that it's just a translation issue. But, really emojis might help or use of personal pronouns as in: "I wouldn't purchase this item because of my personal value statement on climate change." 🤗
@feritae @mem_somerville No arrogance. Just chat. I will assume you just forgot that there was no emotion in my text and it was you projecting emotions of your choice or culture into it. Could be a translation problem, as I am English and I think we don't yet have good online tools to translate "limey" to US culture. Good day! 🎩
@mjr @mem_somerville Good to know! Have a fabulous rest of the week!

They do a black one!...... visigoth

@mem_somerville my wife hated it, but she does not ride a bike. My daughter — she does ride— found it funny.

I found it funny because it is mandatory to use highly reflective gear, on low visibility situations, when riding a bike in Chile

@mem_somerville my daughter wants a high reflectivity vest with frills.

@wtrmt I was just happy that everyone seemed to appreciate lace!

But I did think it was clever. Safety gear doesn't have to be ugly....

@mem_somerville Lol, well there is absolutely no denying that this is still 100% effective. It's kind of neat seeing people have a bit of fun with it.
@mem_somerville who's the vendor, I need this for RSO and LCO shifts at rocket launches!

@emma It came from lacesafetyvest.com , and it was very speedy after I ordered it.

Please share a photo from a rocket launch with lace on--I would definitely share this with my lacemaker friends and they would love that....

@mem_somerville Was the vendor https://lacesafetyvest.com/ ? I’m considering ordering from them when I’ll have the money.

@Sylvhem Yes, that was the one.

It was very speedy after I ordered too.

@mem_somerville @afewbugs I got one a few months ago & was pleasantly surprised by the quality!
