Gotta cellar full of Macs and I’m not afraid to use them 🙃

#marchintosh I’ve had this PowerMac G4 MDD on the shelf for years. Came to me with a blown power supply that I removed today along with loads of dust and dirt. A late Marchintosh project - going to attempt a janky install of an ATX power supply after I found an adapter cable for sale on eBay. If you look closely in the shiny drive doors, you can see the old stripped G5 case I use as a bookshelf. 😀
Starting on a second Marchintosh project - a modern Gopher browser targeting 68k compact Macs.

Reusing many things from Flynn (modern telnet app) and have an MVP up and running. Should have a 1.0 version ready by the end of the week.

Planning to add favorites, all canonical item types, 256 color support with themes, and other features.

This is all built with Claude Code.

@maccellar Go team StyleWriter!
#marchintosh Found this on eBay recently. It just printed the test page in the picture. So pleased to find one of these in working condition. The Color StyleWriter 1500 was the first printer I ever purchased way back in the day, then for my Performa 580CD. This one will complement “Maggie”, my PowerCenter Pro 240.

We saved our old iMac with Juicy Crumb's Docklite — a replacement for the iMac motherboard to give (at least some) old iMacs new life!

New #MARCHintosh video is live, on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YQozfHU2kjA

iMac is Back: Fixing one of Apple's mistakes

I liked this era of Mac OS X

Nobody on LinkedIn has ever had a bad day. Every setback is a "growth opportunity." Every firing is a "new chapter." Every complete professional disaster is framed as "excited to announce." These people would describe the Titanic as "a bold pivot to submarine operations."
#marchintosh Success! Booted from the new drive… and on battery power! I never want to do that tear-down again 😆
#marchintosh Something like 49 screws to get to a hard drive. I don’t think Apple envisioned fixing many of these.
