With the fan running full speed the board is dropping the PWM output. Now at 10%.

First problem is the non standard pin-out. Second is the system won't boot if the fan speed reading is too low.

So I could double the speed reading with a microcontroller, or I could double the control PWM signal. The latter may be more sensible if I want to ensure cooling.

Or stick to the original fan.

The Clansman radio mast, often used by radio amateurs, has great poles for making dining shelters. We've had so called "tarp poles" bend and fail. I suspect the tarp will be destroyed first in a storm here.

Coffee this morning. Waiting for the family to wake up. Listening to others starting their days.

Great festival for kids. Wish I'd known about it when mine were small. Great to see so many kids forming ad hoc groups and having fun.

I've cleaned and refitted the original. Though I think the issue may be with the burner. This seemed less well made. I have a new burner I can fit once the current mantle needs replacing. One of our other Scout leaders is getting a professionally serviced lantern so it will be interesting to compare light output.

The current arrangement needs the jet cleaning quite often to keep working well. Dirty fuel?

Pi Micro advent calendar after Day 4 and a little extra playing by Dad. Challenge for me is not jumping in. I really ought to let the kids explore. Trying to share one among 3 perhaps not wise either. If I want older son to be interested he needs to take ownership really.
Let's see if this fits and increases reliability.
