Alas it seems I have more DIY jobs in store for me than I can achieve in a week.

Currently listening to Public Service Broadcasting - and learning by chasing up the history of the public information films and archive footage they sample.

Things like why in the song "GO" sampling the Apollo 11 lunar landing we hear "1202 alarm..... 1201 alarm.... 1201 OK" leading into learning about lunar lander module computer memory management and crash recovery.

The kids will be away on an outward bound trip for a week. Does that mean finally time to play radio? Or will the need to catch up on DIY and house jobs be too much?
With the fan running full speed the board is dropping the PWM output. Now at 10%.

With PWM disconnected the fan runs fast enough to keep the board happy. Noisy though at that speed.

PWN drives at 12% roughly when cold. Sense is about 6Hz matching the fan spec. With PWM disconnected sense runs close to 60Hz.

First problem is the non standard pin-out. Second is the system won't boot if the fan speed reading is too low.

So I could double the speed reading with a microcontroller, or I could double the control PWM signal. The latter may be more sensible if I want to ensure cooling.

Or stick to the original fan.

The Clansman radio mast, often used by radio amateurs, has great poles for making dining shelters. We've had so called "tarp poles" bend and fail. I suspect the tarp will be destroyed first in a storm here.

Coffee this morning. Waiting for the family to wake up. Listening to others starting their days.

Great festival for kids. Wish I'd known about it when mine were small. Great to see so many kids forming ad hoc groups and having fun.

The Teenager left to his own devices will spend 10 ours staring at YouTube. Maybe the idea of boring him out of it won't work? He's clearly bored now but it seems will happily spend the rest of the day in front of the screen.

This looks a nice piece of kit to go with the KX3. Significantly cheaper than the Elecraft panadapter. Would be useful when demoing, especially thinking JOTA this year.
