The crappy British tech economy means #mindapples will soon be losing our lovely app development agency. If anyone knows good freelancers or small agencies with experience in #iOS and #Android app dev, #python and open source frameworks, please put me in touch! #pythonjobs
This is such a ludicrous bit of friction, because *of course* the mythical (in fact, non-existent) gangs of people turning up to mythically fraudulently vote would - if really determined - *also* be as mythically likely to intercept other people's postal votes. https://www.gov.uk/apply-for-photo-id-voter-authority-certificate the only feasible explanation is that it's a ploy to shrink the electorate to those more likely to have ID and/or a stable home address
Apply for photo ID to vote (called a ‘Voter Authority Certificate’)

Apply for photo ID to vote (Voter Authority Certificate) in some elections and referendums in Great Britain if you do not have an accepted form of ID.

My last startup was a political party. It turned 10 last December, and is going strong, improving life for the people of Iceland. I met up with Pirates from Sweden and Slovenia tonight, where we are still making some headway on upgrading culture for the current age. My exit a year ago was a good one - it's a sustainable force for good in the tumultuous world of politics, and I've moved on to other things, but I still have wonderful connections with my people!

You know about climate change, you’ve read plenty about climate change, you’re tired of climate change, you’re in despair. Never mind. Read this anyway. By @elizkolbert.

I have just spent 24 hours with my entire staff team for only the second time since December 2019, and I can say it feels very good… We joked about how none of us set out expecting to have this sort of church making on our CVs - but the census news on the religious make-up of the UK reinforces that now is the right time to be doing this work of supporting a community-led network of free-thinking congregations #ReligionCensus #unitarians
On my way to a lighthouse in Merseyside for a weekend of exploring truth in the #climatecrisis - after spending Monday with a group of cultural leaders exploring *love* in the climate crisis (and who all independently identified spiritual community as the way through All Of This). Will be interesting to see how the truth and love weave together
Today I found someone had left me a copy of a publicity guide for Unitarian congregations published in 1980. It’s spectacular, and full of good tips (and mentions of archaic mysteries such as ‘telephone directories’ and ‘telex’).
Our current guide doesn’t feature any cats, which I now realise was a mistake https://www.unitarian.org.uk/resources/communications-resources/
