@shlee

is it OK to use the Poster Union image (that I pinched from your IPUA blog) in the footer of my web page?

My parents, William Guy and Dorothy Butler, were married on this day in 1949.
The attendants dresses were lilac satin. The bride made her own dress with help from her cousin, Ellen Wilson, and her future sister in law, Ella Bannon. All of them worked as dressmakers in Flinders Lane, as did the Matron of Honour, Joyce, who was partnered by Dad's brother Jamie. The bridesmaid was Dad's cousin Christine McPherson and his mate Davey Dickinson was Best Man. I think my grandpa, Arthur Butler was the proudest man in South Melbourne on that day.

I'm not doing too well with #52Ancestors so far, so I'm sneaking in a catch up for last weeks #FavouritePhoto
Trying to pick just one is like trying to choose a favourtie child, but I decided to go with this one since yesterday would have been my Mum's 98th birthday.
She had this one taken to mark her 21st and she made the dress herself.
I still have the garnet necklace which was a gift from my dad, and which she wore most days for the next 73 years.

Just received this little gem from gmail (yes i know!)
I was planning to keep the gmail account as it is mainly just for those times when shops want you to sign up receive their "special discounts" = "newsletter and junkmail", but that account will be going too as soon as I finish transferring
my now USELESS iinet accounts (another story) to protonmail, and teach my tech-challenged husband how to use the protonmail calendar.)

They even added 27 old holiday booking dating back to 2015 WITHOUT ASKING ME IF I'D LIKE THEM TO DO THIS.
AND the finished off by adding this at the end -
"This is the only notification you’ll get about events from Gmail. In the future, Calendar won’t send you an email when Gmail creates a new event."

Drama in the suburbs. Fire alarm at Mernda Junction. Gossip in the upper car park is that a truck set of the sprinklers in the underground car park.
So much for a quick trip to the supermarket.
Pieces of History
On this day 170 years ago, David Wilson married Euphemia Hay in Dundee Scotland, 18 months later on the 4th May 1854 they left Liverpool on board the "Miles Barton", with their 6 month old son David. In July, their only daughter Catherine was born on board the ship in Port Phillip Bay.
They went on to have 6 more sons in Melbourne during the next 20 years. The 2nd-youngest was my great grandfather Andrew Bower Wilson born in 1866 and died in 1934.
By the time Euphemia died in 1911 she had 23 grandchildren, although not all of them survived her.
In 1910 after the death of Queen Victoria's son King Edward VII, memorial jewellery was created from coins with the head of the late King. This bracelet is made from threepenny pieces, all dated 1910. Euphemia gave the bracelet to her grand-daughter, Gertrude Ellen (Wilson) Butler and from her it came to me. One day my grand-daughter Ella will own it and hold in her hand something that was held by her great-great-great-great grandmother.
