A bit late to the party, but here's what the solar eclipse looked like from the Bay Area on Saturday morning! I was fighting the clouds the entire time.
The blue supermoon!
For those who may not have seen recent news stories: you get a blue moon whenever there are 2 full moons in the same month. Coincidentally, the moon was at its closest point last night (because the Earth's orbit is elliptical). This won't happen again until 2037. It's not a big deal astronomy-wise, but still a fun observation to make!
