I'm absurdly excited to learn that 2024 = 2³+3³+4³+5³+6³+7³+8³+9³.
...and it's because:
2025 = 45², and
45=1+2+⋯+9, and
(1+⋯+𝑛)²=1³+⋯+𝑛³ !

It's not everyday a NYT Best Seller tags me responding to one of my blog posts, but here we are.
My post: https://jcarroll.com.au/2023/03/31/version-zero-easter-eggs/
David Yoon's summary: https://www.tiktok.com/@davidoftheyoon/video/7228994598373281067
Version Zero is a great book, I highly recommend it.
I’ve just finished reading ‘Version Zero’ by David Yoon. I really enjoyed it. There’s some (javascript) code on some separator pages between some of the chapters that is loosely tied into the plot and general theme of the book. I love solving puzzles, so what was I supposed to do, just leave it at that?
Praise be someone finally created a Nerd Tree clone for VSCode. It's exactly what I was looking for. 👏👏 👏

This post by @jimniels resonates with me https://blog.jim-nielsen.com/2023/deadlines-as-technology/
I get a lot more done when I have a deadline, even if that's just "before we meet next week". I have an ever-growing TODO list of things to play with, try out, dig deeper into, but unless any of them *need* to be done they all just sit in that list. I don't recall where I saw it, but I like the idea of having two lists: "things to find time to take care of" and "things time has taken care of". Deadlines can trigger the transition.
This was Braun's last ever HiFi system, released in 1990. In their own words:
"The consumer electronics market is characterized by cut-throat competition. Manufacturers not offering an innovation or at least cosmetic pseudo changes every 2 years are quickly suspected of being obsolete.
This increasingly risky development would mean having to weaken certain principles of our design philosophy: honesty & durability. We will no longer support this development.
Braun HiFi becomes history."
