It’s hard to justify Tahoe icons

Looking at the first principles of icon design—and how Apple failed to apply all of them in macOS Tahoe

Zuckerberg has blown 77 billion – enough money to revitalize entire countries – on an idea so overwhelmingly, obviously stupid that I have never once heard anyone, from the Thanksgiving avuncular table to the most wretched depths of social media, say they liked it or even tried it. He was so sure that it would revolutionize the world that he renamed his extremely famous company after it. And now he's on to the next thing that he's so very, very sure about.

The world needs direction from sober people who aim to improve the human condition, not the whims of a handful of billionaire princelings who absolutely, positively cannot be dissuaded from failing at unprecedented scale while chasing their own vainglory off the edge of a cliff.

Hey folks.
My position as the eng lead of the Polaris #DesignSystem was made redundant the other day. I’m now looking for what’s next. Let me know if there are any positions out there for a remote eng director working remotely from APAC. I managed team across all time zones, love getting up early.

Most of the time, I get hired to fix things as a consultant developer that would not be broken if they had been designed more thoughtfully in the first place. Sound familiar? But here's the thing: I'm not a developer. I studied art and design at university, including how to design websites. But they didn't teach me how to code, even though that's most of the work. So, in early employment, I had to ""steal company time"" to learn how to do that and be better at my job, as a designer.

If you have a Synology NAS and use Safari's "Add to Dock" feature for your DSM, I threw together a quick icon for it.

There's probably better ones out there, but I did a quick search and didn't see anything so I just created this one. Figured I'd share it.

IMPORTANT! I have just learned that Mark Humphries @markhumphries is crowdfunding for a documentary, “The Renters: A funny and factual look at the disrupted lives – and communities – of the millions of renters who make our towns tick.” https://documentaryaustralia.com.au/project/the-renters/ You know what to do.

Also, spread the word!

I recently received some Starkcoin (crypto) as part of an "airdrop" for open source contributions.
I have no interest in owning crypto so I tried to go through the ridiculous process of trying to turn the pretend money into real money.
The first step, was to convert the Starkcoin into Etherium so I can transfer it into a *different* wallet. The failed for seemingly no reason, and changed me $0.37 USD in "gas fees" for shits and giggles?
This has to be some kind of sick joke right?
Sometimes I’ll email an artist I love just to say I love their work and the response I get is always so charming. People love to hear that you love what they do. People should do that more. So often people wait until someone dies to show their appreciation.
