@johnbrayton I haven't tried it before, and gave it a go now. And I like it!

But (and I don't like to be that guy), I feel like you've priced yourself way too high. 😕

I'm absolutely not one of those who thinks anything over $0 is too much - but one year of Unread is literally three times lifetime unlocks of Reeder or Lire.

I've bought both of those apps, and was prepared to pay something similar now (even as a sub) - but sadly it's too rich for me, next to a Feedbin sub.

@johnbrayton (But, you've made a really nice app - and I even think something like double the price of the competition would be warrented. Just not _many_ times more. I'll might even use the free version of Unread - as it's enough for me. But I _want_ to support it..! â˜ș)
@havn Thank you for your input. My goal is to make the free version of the app competitive with free and less expensive RSS readers. I needed to set a price that allows me to do that while also making the business feasible.

@johnbrayton Yeah - and I get that pricing is super-hard! You’ll always get a bunch of people complaining no matter where you put it. (Why should developers eat food, amirite?)

And then you have people like me: I have a “problem” where I love spending a little money on a bunch of apps. And I was super-ready to “waste” a bit more on your app 😛 - but it was more than I thought, heh, and I’ve already spent a bunch on RSS readers.

But I can absolutely see the sense in going for something like six times the price of the competitors, and settle for having to capture one sixth the amount of customers. (While having a free tier that’s almost _too_ generous!)

I’m not claiming I’m the majority - but if the app had the same pricing as something like Callsheet (https://apps.apple.com/no/app/callsheet-find-cast-crew/id1672356376?l=nb), I probably would’ve subbed without thinking about it. 🙃

‎Callsheet: Find Cast & Crew

‎Have you ever wondered “who is that actor?”, or perhaps “when was this movie released?”, or “what was the title of that one episode of that show I love”? Maybe you're a film aficionado, and wonder “how old was this person when this movie was released”? Have you wanted to answer those questions *wit

(And maybe I’ll crack after a while, looking at that sweet, sweet typography. 😉)

I don’t know if it’s worth the trouble for you - but I think the free tier is so good, that I’d think about adding a cheap “tip tier” that just gives you the app icons or something. For those of us who are fine with the free tier, but still would like to support the app. 🙂
