When I'm stressed I react with flu-like symptoms. I'll develop a mild fever, I'll start a nervous cough, my throat will be sore.
I've also attended a convention last weekend so I'm currently playing the "am I super stressed or about to get sick" game. Fun times.
#WritersCoffeeClub - Do you suffer from imposter syndrome?
I'm frankly terrible at this writing thing. The better I get, the more I doubt myself. The more I learn, the worse I think I am.
I like to stand in my own way. I excel at paralysing myself with self-doubt. And I'm an excellent procrastinator.
Instead of trying and failing (or succeeding) I don’t do anything… and that’s frankly silly but I can’t seem to break the cycle.
Hey #WritersOfMastodon I need your help! We're doing a series on Building Characters, and with that, we're going to be recording a set of podcast on Character Agency, but we need another subtopic.
Here's what we have so far:
What is agency and why is it important?
How to show agency well
Agency with lack of control/passive characters
??
What do you think? Anything that would fit well in that fourth spot?
#WritersCoffeeClub - What genres might you try?
Welcome to my Achilles heel. I'm eternally genre-confused. I read everything. By that I mean I read EVERYTHING. From Austen to Chaucer, from romance to thriller, if it has an engaging plot & characters, I'm here.
It is my eternal curse to start every day by thinking: why don't I write a cosy mystery? A thriller perhaps? How about a space opera?
I don't have a specific love, a genre that calls my name, and I'm jealous of the people who do...
#WritersCoffeeClub 9/12. If you write novels, would you consider a short story?
I started out writing short stories, mostly dystopian.
Then I progressed to writing a novella series.
And here I am, trying to write a novel. Yes, I'm an underwriter. I prefer short fiction to write.
Reading, however, I want the chonkiest chonkers possible!
