The funding round is now closed. Thank you to everyone who showed up to #FundInternetFreedom. We’re tallying donations and matching allocations, and will share results soon. Support is still encouraged, but new donations won’t count toward this quadratic funding round.

Today is the last day to support OnionShare and other projects participating to the Fund Internet Freedom crowdfunding campaign, led by the Tor Project and Funding the Commons.

Each donation is multiplied by matching sponsors, and will directly go to support the development of OnionShare! 🧅✨

Thank you for supporting Lockdown Systems projects like OnionShare that helps journalists, activists, and anyone else who needs to communicate and share files online securely and anonymously 💜🐢

Access alone is not enough. Technology is only useful if people trust it, understand how to use it safely, and can rely on support networks when digital spaces become unstable or dangerous. ASL19's Paskoocheh helps people in Iran access trusted privacy and circumvention tools when websites and apps, VPNs, and app stores themselves are blocked.

https://ooni.org/post/2026-women-on-web-blocked/

We joined forces with Women on Web to investigate the blocking of their domains around the world based on OONI data.

Our report documents the blocking of Women on Web domains in 7 countries: Iran, Türkiye, the Philippines, South Korea, Spain, Kuwait, and Argentina.

We believe privacy and free expression are fundamental rights—rights we can't afford to lose, which is why we build tools to safeguard them.

People rely on these tools to preserve evidence, tell their stories, and hold power to account.

We run over 300 servers worldwide, working around the clock to keep information flowing to people whose governments don't want them to have it.

Earlier this year, the US State Department announced it would delete every post on its official X accounts made before Trump returned to office in 2025.

Deleting years of previous government posts that should be easily accessible to the public is dangerous and antidemocratic, to say the least.

At Lockdown Systems, we thought this information should remain accessible to the public. So we backed them up.

A picture may be worth a thousand words, but only if it survives. Handling mobile media that documents human rights violations can put those brave enough to capture a record—and those very records—at risk.📱 @OpenArchive 's free open-source Save app and 🌐 DWeb Storage help communities securely 📁 archive, ✅ verify, and 🔒 encrypt this documentation.

Preserving evidence: How OpenArchive fosters accountability and media sovereignty | Tor Project

Handling mobile media that documents human rights violations can put those brave enough to capture a record -- and those very records -- at risk. OpenArchive's free open source Save app and DWeb Storage help communities securely archive, verify, and encrypt this documentation without depending on centralized platforms that can remove, lose, or expose sensitive data at a moment's notice.

Securely archiving and verifying media protects our evidence, #HumanRights, and #InternetFreedom. 📸🔒⚖️

Until June 19th, your gift will be matched so that even a small donation will have a big impact.
