frankly speaking, as someone who has used both, it's a case of trading the poison of stuff that can be solved with a physical alarm clock, for a platform that is actively trying to become locked down, and google wants to make into a complete walled garden, and plenty of key apps for people's daily lives simply do not work because of play integrity checks if you go the custom rom route

@notthebee honestly speaking, grapheneOS is nice, we've used it a bunch and it makes android a lot more plesant to use, but we've had to accept that as much as we'd prefer otherwise, our accessibility needs are best met by an iphone, although we do make very little use of it's "AI" or cloud features instead using stuff like local storage for music and a dedicated DAP for distraction free listening, and attempting to set up some form of photo sync on our nas

@alicela1n @cyberboy the t490 has a dgpu option, although it's nvidia dgpu is GT1030 levels of performance, but given that the original cities skylines can be played on a 2012 macbook pro, which is an ivy bridge laptop with intel hd 4000 graphics, the onboard graphics of any relatively modern ryzen or intel laptop should be more than up to the task, although the hp elitebook 845 g7 or newer is also a solid choice with reasonably capable vega graphics
