Garmin forums are funnier than usual today.

People are understandably frustrated that you can no longer follow a course without getting your podcast interrupted every 100 meters by a voice instructions that can't be turned off. Some are considering applying for software engineering jobs at Garmin just so they can fix this and fuck off again.

I went to Czechia for a week and all I got are these two lousy pictures. Well, those, and some screenshots of lousy pixels (see previous toot) as I was tweaking my neovim/terminal setup in the bed instead of enjoying the beautiful outdoors. It's becoming a tradition - fly home, fall sick immediately, get better, fly back. 🙁

Is there a good 7x13 font with all those fancy icons ("Nerd Fonts") every other nvim plugin uses by default, or am I stuck having to disable the icons one by one?

Like… look at the attached pic. The text is perfectly clear, even at 160 DPI (14" 1920x1200). The icons – not so much.

I got this #ThinkPad in October 2017, so that's like 6½ years, and somehow the batteries still last 4 hours. Cycle counts are 687 and 838.

4 hours isn't great but is it bad enough to buy new batteries for £100+ and then inevitably break the stupid little clips holding the laptop body together while trying to replace the internal one? It's not like my brain can do much more than 4 hours anyway 🤣

A while ago I realised that the only gardening strategy I'm capable of that doesn't end with the plants dying is DO NOT TOUCH GO AWAY.

So I took all the pots left behind by dead plants, kept the soil in there, placed it on the balcony, and walked away.

Lo and behold, I managed to grow a willow tree!
