Here's one of two large terracotta coil pots I fired over the weekend, featuring the pearly, crackled surface I get when I turn #clay from Ocala National Forest into terra sigillata. I'm making these pieces to be shown at upcoming exhibitions in #Florida, hoping to pique others' curiosity about this unique peninsula of limestone & sand that we live on. That curiosity can lead to greater connection with the Earth, something that many of us have lost along the way: https://potterybyosa.com/blogs/clay-people/fractured-fragmented-and-fragile
The Textile Museum of Canada is running a fundraiser that ends today to do some renovations so they can reopen. They're getting close to their goal! https://textilemuseum.ca/join-support/give-we-cant-reopen-without-you/#weaving #museums #fiberart

Washington just became the 6th state to pass an electronics Right to Repair law! A quarter of Americans are now covered by electronics repair laws.

And they also passed a bill for powered wheelchairs! That’s a double win for repair, and a big blow to manufacturer control.

Sometimes what you can do is focus on local and regional issues. Ecology Ottawa has some great policy ideas for Ontario! https://www.ecologyottawa.ca/ontario_election_planks
Bolstering Canada’s right to repair could shield it against U.S. tariffs and trade uncertainty

The right to repair can increase the amount of well-paying Canadian jobs and reduce Canada’s dependence on unpredictable global markets.

@weaving little pouch for using up odds and ends of soap made out of an end of warp sample plus a finger loop braid experiment! #weaving #braiding
My preferred online interaction has always been answering questions and discussing things on more forum type places rather than posting my own work, but here's my current stashbusting WIP - fabric is woven but needs some sewing to turn it into it's final form. Any guesses as to what that is? #weaving

In tech’s boom times, many sought to “move fast and break things,” a motto Mark Zuckerberg popularized at Facebook. Now, in an era of layoffs and cost-cutting, workers feel an urge to slow down and make things. https://wapo.st/3oyfMaC #press
