Give each a rating with intuitive descriptions. Instance admins could adopt one of these and advertise a policy that is then more globally and immediately understood. Perhaps some admins would be glad to delegate this task. New users could search for instances based on this.

Maybe admins could have the option to deviate from these templates, advertising Policy x with exceptions + + + and - - - (eventually moving to another template if deviating closer to one).

#Mastodon idea: Moderation templates.
Probably the hardest thing for people moving to Mastodon is choosing an instance. Main issue for me is moderation policy - relaxed for greater reach or tight for greater security. Understanding an instance's policy is not simple. Finding the list is a task in itself for a beginner and then it isn't obvious if it's tight or relaxed.

So. How about if some *optional* moderation policy templates were dynamically maintained by some working group?

Surprising (to me at least) fact. After Luxembourg, Monaco and Andorra, France's shortest land border is with Germany. Shorter than borders with Belgium, Switzerland, Italy and Spain. And Surinam and Brazil.

Stuck behind a head wobbler at a gig last night. Despite completely unobstructed view his head swung a full foot from one side to the other every ten seconds like a slow motion human metronome. Had to do the opposite throughout the show. Just sit still dammit.
