L'art abstrait ne me parle pas trop, je vote pour celle de gauche car elle est plus douce.

Les alt aideraient ceux qui ne peuvent voir les images #ALT4me

started watching Digimon Beatbreak

unsurprisingly I really like Wolvermon's design

(sorry for the lack of alt-text, I have no idea of how to describe it. putting an
#alt4me just in case)

@arti @agnes @carusb @arti If you want someone else to do the alt text, and they're always made by real people, use the tag #Alt4Me. That'll let me know as a blind person to keep looking, as well.
What I love about #ALT4me is that people notice details about images I often missed.

@mllsc @dgar
There's an #Alt4Me hashtag that can be used to request someone else create #AltText for you*, in case you have a genuine disability precluding your composing alt text, or a fake one, or a lack of time, or you just don't feel like it.
I'm not sure all the Alt4Me requests get useful responses, but you're at least acknowledging the need for alt text even if you can't provide it yourself.

*to edit alt text into an existing post: delete the image, then add it back in & this time add the alt text.

@Longspeak @alice also, there's a widespread use of the hashtag #alt4me in the cases where you're not able to provide an alt text when posting.

Some people are subscribing to this hashtag and are providing the missing alts to these posts.

Also, this is not the place for sighted people to tell their sob stories about how they struggle to write #AltText. The #Alt4Me hashtag is right there. It seems to me that to a #Blind user, the reasons why your image isn’t described, or why it’s incorrectly described by an #LLM, doesn’t change the fact that your image is impenetrable to them. (For what it’s worth, I have ADHD and still I manage to add reasonably meaningful AltText to all my images and videos.)

@RachelThornSub I am not a low vision user, so not answering the poll.

But I wanted to comment:

I often offer alt text when I see it is missing or wildly inaccurate, using the #Alt4You hashtag.

There is also an #Alt4Me hashtag to request someone else draft alt text for you, if you find writing alt text difficult (as some commented). No idea how often it gets a response, but if you are otherwise putting in something minimal, why not try it? Better than rolling the dice with AI, I reckon.
