@si2mev @ralphcrutzen @GrapheneOS I've been on GrapheneOS for years, and unless things have changed since I moved everything out of Google and into self-hosting, getting my contacts and calendars into GrapheneOS was as easy as exporting it all from Google, and importing it into GrapheneOS. Only about 3 months later I deployed a radicale instance in my server to use davx5 on my phone and synchronize my tasks, calendars and contacts, but before that, I just kept the exports in my computer.
@pouletprod while I'm no fan of e/OS/, anything that even remotely removes Google's grab on our lives is a win. Enjoy it, that's honestly a huge achievement. It's only getting better from here.
@fccview @BrianTheeBiscuiteer as much as I hate Google, it's executives and everything they stand for, I 100% agree that credit where credit is dua should always be the route. This is what separates us from them. Not lying to further our philosophy is how we maintain open and transparent discussions about technology the right way.
@DarkPassenger @merde you can use syncthing sort of with a server. What I did was install syncthing in CasaOS and sync to folders in my NAS. That way I have all the files in my NAS updated from all my devices. This also allows me to have a central source of truth and decide on the devices what I can ant and what I don't want individually.
@experiencer @openrightsgroup I hate that country too. Damn!
@stairjoke @shadowdancer @openrightsgroup this is the same "trust me bro!" mentality, only it's the government version, and you are not given the option to not trust them. My wife wants us to visit the UK, fuck that shit, I'm not setting any part of my body on that fucked up dictatorship land.
@deverbovitae I believe the 'how' is entirely irrelevant. His promise to do so is more than enough. The how, when and even where is, like everything else, His will. Just the fact that it comes from Him guarantees that it is good, acceptable and perfect.
@MishaalRahman good for you buddy. Hopefully you can help make Google see the error of their ways when wanting to force android users to install apps only approved by them. If and when that happens, there's nothing else separating them from iOS, and we'd all be better off just moving to Apple.
@andre123 @gattoparlante while I am fully sold on GrapheneOS, this is a great move. Phone processing power for regular use has been more than enough so there is no 'need' to get anything 'next gen' anymore. Enjoy less Google crap in your life. I'm sure you'll love it.
@mistersmee @gamingonlinux That was also my case, back when we were 'Cooking' roms for HTC devices. It's sad to see this decline.
