I am contemplating the possibility of having a completely fanless home office now....well except for my scope
Upgraded my x86_64 build machine a bit ago with a Beelink SR6 Pro (Ryzen 7 7735HS). While the mini-pc form factor is convenient I have been doing lots of long builds and was starting to heatsink the machine and lose performance. Yesterday I decided to fix the problem and modded in an old Noctua LH-9Hi ultra low profile cooler, and a couple of 120mm fans on the top and bottom to create a bottom to top wind tunnel. Now I am no longer getting thermal restricted and just bouncing off the 45W PPT
The end of last summer I saw someone had discarded an old cheap electric scooter. It looked beat-up, and I figured it was discarded because the batteries were dead. Brought it home and my assumptions were correct. Well what will I do with it? My boy has just recently gotten old enough to be interested in vehicles beyond the pedal variety, so I have started converting one of his old trikes.
Haven't posted in a long time, but I am just so elated that I finally have #vaapi decoding running under #chromium and #wayland finally!!! And on #aarch64 as well. A note to anyone testing the new patches make sure you don't have #use-out-of-process-video-decoding enabled in chrome://flags There is a bug that is causing that and vaapi decoding to fail.

These have become extremely handy for running our boards off usb-c pd battery banks.
As some of my other tests have hinted at, the #LX2160a in the #HoneyCombLX2 has reduced memory bandwidth when using threads on the same cluster. Max memory bandwidth is achieved at 1 thread per cluster.
Safe and Happy New Years to all.
