Really a sign of our times how the promise of "this product will receive software updates while you own it!" has turned into a threat https://www.reddit.com/r/assholedesign/comments/1f3h5r8/my_1700_snoo_bassinet_now_requires_a_premium/
@dimillian You might want to watch Apple “Demystify and eliminate hitches in the render phase” video from wwdc23
@JoshHrach @stroughtonsmith With SwiftUI, you can now define a side bar with sections / or top tabs for iPad and tabs at the bottom for iPhone, with a single view: TabView.
@airspeedswift Wrote a multi-platform SwiftUI app to help prepare my Taxes. Add new features each year, like support for Table, etc. This year? Port to visionOS.

@thomholwerda @stroughtonsmith @gruber A User needs to choose between a number of icons and names representing browser apps. Without having some knowledge about the apps behind them, how can they compare them to make a decision? That doesn’t seem like a good User experience. Sure, Apple could have replaced that list with the equivalent of app store cards for each browser, but does that really help?

In other words it requires the User to possess knowledge they may not have.

@[email protected] @Br3nda @ben @Edent @jensimmons Whether you can paste an already copied password into a password field, or not, isn’t going to prevent people from copying their password into the clipboard. Apparently, it’s too late, by then.

@Br3nda @ben @Edent @jensimmons Whether you can paste it or not doesn’t seem to be relevant. It’s already copied to the clipboard, which would make it vulnerable.

I wouldn’t try to copy some random string to see if I could paste it into a password field. I would copy an actual password, then try to paste it. At that point, wound’t it be too late?

@Br3nda @ben @Edent @jensimmons If you’ve copied the password, intending to paste it, then isn’t it already in the clipboard?
@StepanDolezal @hotdogsladies I don’t know. I can totally imagine Johansson as the capybara. Like how she nailed it as the disembodied voice of an AI in a phone, in Her.
@qlp Tesla will just accept lower safety scores in the EU. If everyone manufacturer does, there will be no distinguishing factor between them.
