I just removed huge chunks of code and several files from my project because, after thinking about it and looking at the problem in a different way, I have found a much more concise and elegant way of doing the same thing.
It's one of the best feelings I know and, when it happens, it's a day-long high. And it's very self-validating.
I don't use AI because, on top of everything else that's incredibly problematic with it, it deprives me of that feeling.
All the devs saying that Anthropic’s code quality is “normal” are telling on themselves and everybody they’ve worked with
(Also supports what many have been saying about software quality being a crisis that precedes LLMs, but that’s another story)
