Here to learn, mostly by lurking. Don't post or comment much, but I'm working on it. By day I do the businessman thing in the sustainable energy space. But in my heart I'm just that Gen X teen staying outside until the street lights come on.

Banner is the friendly hypnotic stare of my 23 breeds of pit bull / super mutt mix.

Mid-Atlantic winter storm: we've gotten a couple of inches so far at 11p ET. We'll see what the night brings.
Mid-Atlantic winter storm: Decided to put one of the cars in our tiny one-car garage. It's a tight fit. I had to crawl out of the driver's window NASCAR style and then slide down the back left pillar onto the trunk to get out.
I guess it turned out to be a low carb night. At least there's a lot of protein on that plate.

Needed comfort food for dinner. Poutine with hamburger gravy. Everything but the curds are from scratch. Made both regular and sweet potato fries.

In addition, the chapel has a 12 guest limit. My youngest son was guest #13. He is now officially referred to as "The Wedding Crasher."

Also, I don't like rules. Here's a picture.

(2/2 - End)

Spent from Thursday evening until this morning in bed not feeling well. Unfortunately very little of it was sleep. At least got enough last night to start moving around again this morning. Thankfully I had expert healthcare oversight.
Saturday night cooking with my chemist son. Did Shrimp Etouffee again, my favorite. Someone in the house is allergic to both celery and bell peppers. Those are two of the three keystones of the holy trinity, the basis for much of Creole cooking. So we had to come up with substitutes: leek and zucchini. Worked out beautifully!

My youngest son is a chemistry major in his final🤞year of college. He's a devotee of the food journalist and restaurateur J. Kenji Lopez-Alt. He loves the science / chemistry of cooking. And we love to cook together. Tonight was a first time going homemade on Shrimp Etouffee. Almost as good as the Crawfish Etouffee I had the last time I made it to New Orleans. Tonight's was absolutely delicious. Made me think of @Pawpower
