@[email protected] I followed several already but @lunastation was new to me and interesting. thanks for the suggestions.
@marthawells System Collapse - new MurderBot novel - got my Audible pre-order delivered already! Looking forward to it!!!
I feel delightfully subversive. During the checkout process at a store I do not usually go to, I entered my area code and 867-5309 as my loyalty number. It worked! 🤣 I waited for the clerk to hand me my receipt and say “Thank you, Jenny.” but no such luck. I read about this technique a while ago but didn’t try it. But I’m feeling more subversive these days. I have tried it at Walgreen’s and a few local grocery stores and it worked at all of them.🤣🙌🏻
@albrookswriter @shippychaos Ok I just took a quick look at this fanfic and in the first couple of minutes of reading just realized it was the genesis of the book “Honey in the Marrow” by Emily Waters which I loved. I guess I am late to the party!
@shippychaos Thanks! This is going on the watch list!
@lizzard @robrecht check out bone conduction headphones. They have children’s sizes. These type of headphones do not go into or over the ear canal so are not irritating. They transmit sound via bone conduction. They do not block environmental sounds either. I prefer them unless I need noise cancellation like on a plane or a noisy environment.

So with evidence mounting that AI will just make things up rather than admit it doesn't know, I think it's safe to use male pronouns.
@reginasbread Yes, continually having to come out, even if you’ve been out forever, is annoying. I have deliberately started mentioning my wife in casual conversation at work whenever others are discussing personal things or if they ask what I did for the weekend, etc. For the past several years, I have become almost militant in not allowing my lesbianism to go under the radar. I have been out since the 80’s but it now feels like a political necessity.
The the writers strike already has at least one icon—and she’s not a writer. Lindsay Dougherty is a Teamster boss who heads up Local 399. She said Teamster trucks would not cross picket lines. And she sent a raucous message that rang out through Hollywood: “What I’d like to say to the studios is: If you want to fuck around, you’re gonna find out."
