Edit: I believe I have someone interested in the SPARCstation now, but feel free to register an interest if you like, I'll try to keep track. It makes me happy that there's so much interest in this nice old machine :)
Original post below:
Would you, or anyone you know, be interested in a free SPARCstation 20 and be able to collect it from the South of Scotland in early April? Some more details here: https://mackenga.ro/blog/2026/free-sparcstation-and-more/index.html
Boosts appreciated if you think someone downstream of you might want it.
(Update)
I have figured out it *might* be slightly dangerous to keep my Sparcstation 5 (which is inside my private home network) open to the internet so I transferred my gopher server to a more secure location: gopher://www.leosam.net
Some days I want to open an Internet cafĂ© with Macintosh Performas (because thatâs what I remember Internet cafĂ©s having).
It uses an Internet Archive/Wayback Machine proxy, and every day is a random day between 1995 and 2000, which is announced on a board (âToday is July 8th, 1997â).
Thereâs obviously extensive caching on-premise and monthly donations to the IA for their work.
Thereâs also good specialty coffee, of course, and other fun retro telecommunications and non-Web Internet stuff (BBS, Teletex, IRC, etc.)
Totally not sustainable and Iâve never run such a thing, but fun to think about. Make the internet exciting again. #RetroComputing #VintageComputing
1995: the advantage of internet is that everything is distributed so no system failure can bring it down

Meshtastic iOS app breaks EU law with sending lots of telemetry (logs, usage) to DataDog in US wthout user consent and without any kind of notification of the app doing so.
I reported this as issue and it got immediately closed without any explanation: https://github.com/meshtastic/Meshtastic-Apple/issues/1449
Before submitting I have searched existing issues to make sure this bug hasn't already been reported I have updated to the latest version of the software to verify the issue still exists Firmware V...
