Webspace Invaders · Matthias Ott

There’s something happening on the Web at the moment that almost feels like watching that old arcade game Space Invaders play out across our servers. Bots and scrapers marching in formation, attacking our servers wave after wave, systematically requesting page after page, relentlessly filling their data stores while we watch our access logs fill up.

Bad Quarto and @nickmofo just put out Run Run Run, a collection of code poem where the source code and output fit on a single page.

Here is a photo of my contribution: A Map of Possible Spaces. It's a single line of Node!

You can get the booklet here: https://badquar.to/publications/run_run_run.html

"Their code was so bad that I had to rewrite it before I threw it away."

sometimes when i feel my code has too many confusing states, i like to stop, take a deep breath, and open the MSDN page for the MsoTrioState enum.

MsoTrioState is "a tri-state Boolean value". it has five possible values. only two of them are supported.

the only supported values are true and false.

Today 13:00 CET in English and Mandarin, as part of Taipei Fine Arts Museum online program

Through this commented tour, they’ll discuss their overlapping creative practices, research methodologies, and how the work reflects their mutual investigations into digital folklore, and resistance to platformized amnesia"

The Fontstand conference is an opportunity for type creators to engage in dialogue with the wider design community. The community is at the heart of Fontstand, which is why we are converting it into a collectively owned font distributor. Together, we can do more!

Trump may be the beginning of the end for ‘enshittification’ – this is our chance to make tech good again

The US president is weaponising tech, but his tariffs and Brexit provide a surprising opportunity to gain back digital control of our lives, says science fiction author, activist and journalist Cory Doctorow
