Narrative Nubs is a joint project of the MIT Trope Tank https://tropetank.com and the Computational Narrative Systems node at the Center for Digital Narrative, University of Bergen @cdn

Six contributors made v1.0 possible; see the release note.

The Trope Tank

Nick Montfort’s lab/studio, seeking to develop new poetic practices and new understandings of digital media by focusing on the material, formal, and historical aspects of computation and language.

Today is release v1.0 of —

Narrative Nubs, a project to develop a set of story generators — nubs, as in "the nub of the argument" — that present the essence of systems from the past 65+ years.

Today’s release v1.0 has nubs for GESTER, Story Machine, TAILOR, and “Through the Park”; two of these share a realizer to generate surface text.

Share and enjoy!

Jesus walks into a restaurant for the last supper.

He asks the host, “could we have a table for 26?”

She looks at the group for a moment. “But ... there are only 13 of you?”

“Yes — we’re all going to sit on one side of the table.”

I was just connecting with someone from Austin who has a 512 number.

I lived in San Antonio and had a 512 number.

“In 1992, the western part of [the 512] territory, including San Antonio and the Rio Grande Valley, became area code 210, making 512 the last of Texas' original four area codes to be split.”
