@RickiTarr
I want to think of today as "Happy birthday to the USA that always should have been" and a funeral for a USA that was never great for everybody.
We ARE going to have a funeral in this country. But WE are the ones who get to choose whether it's a funeral for white supremacy or a funeral for democracy.
A centralized intelligence database on all Americans is not inherently legal.
It likely breaks the Privacy Act of 1974, the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA), the 1st, 4th and 5th Amendments.
This must be stopped. Contact your Senators and Representative and ask them to stop it. I use @5calls to call mine.

I made this a while back, it's no less relevant today.
Not being a lawyer, this appears to be catastrophic for any queer folks living in the 9th Circuit's jurisdiction. I would love to be wrong on that, but this seems to establish several precedents outside the immediate ruling (e.g. that trans students are, in law, the "opposite sex", or that "biological sex" is a thing and a thing that can be identified unambiguously at birth).
If I am wrong in my lay understanding, please let me know in replies, and I'll edit or delete.
