Thanks, Babu. I’m curious what folks experiences are in ease of opening and converting large files of several hundred pages from other file formats without losing formatting, etc. - so I can streamline when I try Scribus on some of my larger files.

I’ve used Id and Quark on smaller publishing projects, and apps like FrameMaker on larger technical programming projects and I’m looking for a simple, elegant publishing solution I’ll love puttering with, whether on a media project or a protein sequencing project. I’ve experience difficulties getting some of the proprietary software solutions to read and convert files from other proprietary software solutions, which is more about software fiefdoms and shoddy proprietary software design. Have you used Scribus to convert larger I’d or Quark files? If so, how did you find the experience?
